What should I expect at my first appointment?

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No — you don't need a referral to see us. If you have one, bring it along; if not, we'll do our own assessment. We may coordinate with your other clinicians where useful.

How long does each appointment last?

First consultations are 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions typically 45 minutes. Lymphedema first evaluation is 90 minutes. Hypopressive classes run 60 minutes per session.

What should I bring?

Comfortable, loose clothing. Any referral letters or imaging results if you have them. Insurance card and ID if applicable. A list of any current medications. Any questions you have been holding onto — no question is silly here.

We work with several insurance providers — confirm during booking whether yours is one of them. If we're not in-network we can issue receipts for reimbursement.

We specialise in pelvic health (pregnancy & postpartum, hypopressive classes, bladder & bowel prolapse, persistent pelvic pain, post-op rehabilitation, men's pelvic health, vaginismus, PGAD, coccydynia) and lymphatic rehabilitation (lymphedema, post-cancer rehab, orthopedic rehab). How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the condition and severity. Some patients improve in 3–6 sessions; others with chronic conditions may continue for several months. Your clinician discusses a realistic plan after your first assessment.

I'm pregnant — is pelvic physiotherapy safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes — pelvic floor physiotherapy during pregnancy is well-evidenced and safe. We tailor techniques to your trimester and any complications. Many of our patients see us through pregnancy and postpartum.
